Italian One Shell Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk (1/3)
  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1 teaspoon allspice and cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup nuts - chopped fine
  • Unbaked pie shell
  • 1/2 pint heavy cream

Ingredients For Double Pie

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup milk (1/3)
  • 8 cups sliced apples
  • 2 teaspoon allspice and cinnamon
  • 1 cup nuts - chopped fine
  • Unbaked pie shell
  • 1 pint heavy cream

Procedure

  1. Make shell first - use unbaked. Pie Crust or Easy Pie Crust
  2. Beat egg
  3. Add 2 tablespoons sugar, flour, salt and mix well
  4. Scald the milk and add to the beaten egg then set aside
  5. Prepare apples, peal and slice
  6. Arrange apples in shell
  7. Sprinkle remaining sugar and spices
  8. Pour custard (egg and milk)mixture over the apples
  9. Top with chopped nuts
  10. Bake at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40 minutes
  11. After pie is cool refrigerate
  12. After pie is cold whip a 1/2 pint heavy cream to cover the pie with whipped cream
