Rosemarie's Famous Tender Pork Chops

If there's a lot of fat, I cut it off. It comes off real easy AFTER they're cooked.

Ingredients

  • Pork chops
  • Teriyaki
  • Black pepper
  • Salt (I sprinkle some salt, even though Teriyaki has some)
  • Garlic powder
  • package of Sazon seasoning optional
  • Vegetables: bell peppers, onions, mushrooms (whatever you like)
  • Olive oil or other cooking oil of your choice

Procedure

  1. In frying pan pour about 1/4 to 1/3 cup Teriyaki
  2. Heat pan to medium high. Pan should be hot enough to sear meat quickly.
  3. Lay chops in pan flat, QUICKLY season one side with all seasonings and IMMEDIATELY TURN OVER and season other side
  4. Finish searing adding more teriyaki as needed to keep pan moist.
  5. You can turn down to slow simmer, add a few tablespoons of water if there isn't enough juice, cover tightly OR transfer to pyrex or any pan and do the same in the oven on 325 degrees Fahrenheit covered tightly. Make sure some liquid is always in pan.
  6. After about one hour you can add vegetables, peppers, onions, whatever you like. Just spread them on top of the chops, sprinkle with salt and pepper and a little oil of your choice. (I use extra light olive oil) and bake 350 degrees Fahrenheit with TOP OFF about 1/2 hour or until cooked the way you like them (I don't like them mushy, 1/2 hour is USALLY enough.)(The vegetables will generate a lot of fluid, so you shouldn't have to add more water to the pan, but bottom of pan should never be dry while baking)
