Honey Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsifted flour
  • 1/3 cup Hershey's cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Procedure

  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Blend in honey and vanilla
  3. Add eggs one at a time
  4. Combine flour, cocoa, and salt, gradually add to creamed mixture
  5. Stir in nuts
  6. Pour in 9 inch square pan
  7. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies pull away from pan
  8. Cool in pan

Makes 16 brownies.

Butter Cream Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound confectionary sugar (powered sugar)(4 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons milk or cream

Procedure

  1. Cream butter and shortening
  2. Add vanilla and salt
  3. Beat in sugar 1 cup at a time blending well after each addition
  4. Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy
  5. Keep icing covered and store in refrigerator

Yield 3 cups.
