Honey Brownies
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup unsifted flour
- 1/3 cup Hershey's cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Procedure
- Cream butter and sugar
- Blend in honey and vanilla
- Add eggs one at a time
- Combine flour, cocoa, and salt, gradually add to creamed mixture
- Stir in nuts
- Pour in 9 inch square pan
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies pull away from pan
- Cool in pan
Makes 16 brownies.
Butter Cream Frosting
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound confectionary sugar (powered sugar)(4 cups)
- 3 tablespoons milk or cream
Procedure
- Cream butter and shortening
- Add vanilla and salt
- Beat in sugar 1 cup at a time blending well after each addition
- Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy
- Keep icing covered and store in refrigerator
Yield 3 cups.
